Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council has confirmed its continued support of the Royal Sutton Fun Run in 2023.

Leader of Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council, Councillor Simon Ward said: “This year marks a milestone for our royal town’s longest running annual fundraising event - the 40th Royal Sutton Fun Run.

“The Town Council is delighted to be a key partner of the 40th Royal Sutton Fun Run and we’re looking forward to what should be a very special occasion at the beginning of June.

“The Fun Run provides a perfect vehicle for so many of our brilliant local charities and voluntary organisations to encourage supporters to participate and raise money, to help generate funds to continue the great work they do in our community.

“The route showcases so much of the royal town, not least our fantastic Sutton Park which only last year found itself on the global sporting stage hosting the Commonwealth Games Triathlon.”

James Pike, Fun Run director said: “The strategic alliance with Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council has been critical in helping the Fun Run recover from having to cancel the event three times in two years due to Covid restrictions.

“We very much welcome the support of Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council and its recognition of the importance of the annual event to the royal town.

“It’s quite astonishing to think we’ll be celebrating the 40th Fun Run at the start of June and early indications suggest we’ll have a double celebration in breaking through £5million distributed to charities and voluntary organisations since 1982.

“Registration for this year has now closed, so the focus for those who have entered is to prepare for tackling the challenging 8.5mile course and raising money for their chosen charity, voluntary group or community interested organisation.”
