A Sutton Coldfield singer and guitarist who is a fan-favourite on the local acoustic scene around north Birmingham is to open the 2019 Sutton Coldfield Expo on stage on Saturday 28th September.
Tim Philpot, who lives in Wylde Green, has performed widely at folk festivals in Wales, Lichfield, the Black Country and Sutton Coldfield, both in the local clubs and also bigger venues like the Sutton Coldfield Community Games and the Expo for Sutton Coldfield Town Centre BID.
Tim famously played on stage as the Olympic Torch passed him in 2012 on its way to the Olympic Games in London. He generously gives his time and energy for worthy causes such as cancer charities and Sutton Coldfield Scouts. Tim recently supported Sutton Coldfield Scouts with the 2019 Gang Show at Bishop Vesey School with months of rehearsals, performing to approx. 250 people per night for a week.
Tim has released his music on CD and YouTube videos and his performances the Black Country Living Museum during the Black Country Festival led to his nomination as Creative Black Country Master in 2014.
The Sutton Coldfield Expo is completely free and the community events stage showcases the best of talent in the Royal Town.
