The mayor of Sutton Coldfield has been working with art students at BMet College, Sutton Coldfield campus, on their industrial placement.
Students were tasked with researching mental health challenges faced by young people, looking at the causes and symptoms, from which they developed an individual artistic response.
The mayor has met with students, discussed their ideas and viewed their progress on three visits to the college throughout 2022-2023.
The Town Council are excited to announce residents will also get the chance to view the students designs at an exhibition in the Town Centre.
The ‘Mental Health and Young People’ exhibition is taking place at Direct Action Art UK (former BHS) until Thursday 30 March.
Opening times can be found on the website. The exhibition is FREE to attend.
A special viewing took place yesterday in which the mayor joined students and their family and friends, to celebrate their achievements.
Providers of services that support the mental health and wellbeing of young people were also invited to speak with students.
Information on the support they offer will be highlighted on the Town Council’s website and social media.
