David Lowe, who was born in Sutton Coldfield, has created iconic television themes such as BBC News, The One Show, The X Factor, and The Olympics, with his work gaining attention on social media and even being remixed at the 2024 Glastonbury Festival.
Internationally, he has created music for Al Arabya, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah TV, NDTV India, CCTV China, Bloomberg TV USA and Euronews France and Africa. David's music features in adverts for Santander, British Airways and Barclays.
David has had three albums released. "Dreamcatcher”, “What Is In Between?" and "I Find You Very Attractive" (project name "Touch and Go") The latter included the single "Would You...?".
It reached number 3 in the UK Charts in 1999 and was a hit internationally. It hit the charts again in 2023, remixed by DJ Campbell. The follow up ‘Straight...to Number One’, launched iTunes in the USA.
During the event, audiences can learn how David composed some of the most recognisable themes on television today, which will also feature a special Q&A session.
‘Secrets of the TV Theme’ is part of a charity fundraising event for the Town Hall, with funds contributing towards their goal of developing into a multi-purpose community led cultural, arts and performance Hub. This will include the unveiling of a new user-friendly website, new logo, and strategic vision for the Town Hall.
