If you found an injured animal in your back garden or nearby, what would you do?

Riverside Animal Centre is a most unusual place.  It is a charity rescue centre not only for pet animals but also for wild animals that have been injured.

It was founded 17 years ago by Ted Burden who started by rescuing birds and other animals from a bedroom and a small shed at his home.  This progressed to a derelict council storage sheds in Beddington Park by the River Wandle (the clue's in the name!) and today has many volunteers and dedicated professional staff who care for the ever growing number of animals needing help.

The centre is almost the victim of it's own success as the financial demands on running such a place are enormous and a constant worry.  It desperately needs financial assistance as the costs keep rising year on year.

To support this specialised local charity you can become a member of this wildlife charity from as little as £20.00 per year.  Members are the life blood to this organisation and so far have helped rescue over 40,000 injured animals. Have a look at their WEBSITE to find out a lot more including when you can visit the centre to see first hand how it operates and how you can support it.

Why not take the family to the Spring Open Day on Sunday 18th May from 11.30 - 16.00.  This is a great opportunity to have a good look around and see the amazing work of this quite  unique organisation.
