Local MP Tom Brake has been vigorously campaigning local people to help save major services at St Helier from being axed. Maternity services, A & E and the children’s hospital (remember Queen Mary’s) were all in danger of being closed but the plans were postponed following action by Surrey GP’s and the local community.
In his latest request for support Tom states “St Helier is too good to lose. It scores the highest on a whole range of measures from quality of care to patient satisfaction and we cannot afford to lose such a high-performing hospital. That's why I am asking you to help Save Our St Helier.
The entire future of the hospital is now in limbo while the local GP’s agree a way forward. Until this is done the Epsom and St. Helier Trust cannot make a bid for investment. It is vital that the GP’s choose to locate the essential services at St. Helier.
Tom lists five things that you can do to support our local hospital
You can do any or all of these by clicking on the link HERE . See the official website HERE .
Tom will be presenting the petition to GP's next week commencing 11th February so get your signature on NOW.
The greater the support will mean the more increased the chances of these essential services being saved. I, myself was born in St. Helier as were my three children. Such high standards must be maintained! Let's do it!
