Money saving measures that include charges for residents parking permits are being considered by Swansea city council.
Swansea has been one of the few councils that does not charge it's residents for permit parking outside their homes.
This is likely to change from next year as the council look for ways to boost revenues and tackle their deficit.
The proposed charges are £26 for one car and then £52 for any subsequent car registered to that address.
Whilst this another burden passed on to hard pressed residents the coucil are trying to avoid impacting the social care and schools budgets.
It will be interesting to see what the impact of this charge has on both the deficit and the public perception of the way that the council are tackling things.
