In the wake of the disappointment of losing out in the 2017 City of Culture bid announcements were made today of the early plans to celebrate Dylan Thomas 100th anniversary.
Plans unveiled include receitals of his work together with performances of his well known plays.
2014 for Swansea could arguably be as high profile a year as that planned for 2017 recognising and revering one of its most famous (if not infamous) sons.
David Phillips the leader of the council when commenting on the plans said this shows that Swansea is the cultural capital of Wales.
This will be a very exciting year!
