Plans have been submitted for a gas fired power station in Swansea.
A substantial gas power station has been proposed for land to the north of Swansea.
The power station will provide electricity to the National Grid at times of peak demand.
The proposed output will be 299 megawatts equivalent to the needs of 400000 homes.
Whilst this is a firm proposal there will be a period of prolonged consultation with the local community.
The advantages for Swansea of course will be considerable construction contracts as well as largescale employment opportunities.
As long as this is beneficial for Swansea and does not impact on the environment it sounds like a great idea.
