A ships wheel has been uncovered as a result of the recent storms off the Swansea coast.
Experts whilst excited about the find are not able to yet say where it has come from and only that it may date from the 19th century.
The wheel in reasonable condition has lain undiscovered in the mud and silt of the bay.
The violent storm activity has disturbed the sediment and uncovered items such as this wheel which has in all likelihood come from a ship wrecked further down the coastline.
When the wheel has been carefully cleaned and preserved the task of identification will begin.
In any event it will take pride of place within the museum for all to see.
