Plans have been put forward to build a gas power station on the outskirts of Swansea.
A 15 acre site at Felindre has been identified as meeting the requirements for a station that will burn imported gas.
it seems that the facility will not operate continually but will fill in at peak times when demand for electricity is at it's highest or when generation from wind and wave turbines is at it's weakest.
A development of this size will be bound to attract objectors but our demand for power does not look like it will reduce any time soon and therefore we will have to find ways to meet it.
It will be interesting to see how things develop.
