Lucie Jones' hopes of winning the X Factor were dashed on Sunday when the public voted her in the bottom two along with Irish duo Jon and Edward.
Lucie performed an outstanding song for her survival while the Irish boys struggled their way through Rock DJ once again proving that singing is not one of their talents. However after the votes had been cast from Louis, Danni and Cheryl, Simon Cowell decided he would not cast a vote and put the voting into deadlock, meaning it would be the public vote which decides the fate of the hopeful Welsh star.
Simon had already stated that neither had a chance of winning the show and that the results of the public vote would be more fitting that the judges' decision. Many questions over Cowell's decision have been raised asking is the X Factor a talent show or a ratings generator?
Simon Cowell has now been branded a hypocrite after telling Lucie 'you are now the strongest girl in this competition.' Raising growing concern that he is voting out the acts he feels threaten the 3 he has remaining.
Lucie Jones knew that the boys were more popular than her and held her head in her hands as soon as the vote went to deadlock. This was the 2nd week in a row that Dannii has lost a contestant and along with the rest of the UK, she had a look of shock on her face when Dermot announced that Lucie was out.
In a professional manner, Lucie congratulated the boys and gave Danni a big hug to say thanks, showing that Lucie Jones is already a professional performer and here are thebestofswansea we know that we will be seeing a lot more of her over the next few years.
Don't forget to tune in to The X Factor on Staruday at 8pm on ITV1 to see if Welsh hopeful Lloyd Daniels can keep Wales in the competition.
