Locals are out protesting at the proposed redesignation of the Rec on Oystermouth Road.
Apparently the city Council are looking to reclassify the land as open space.
This seemingly innocent title means that in the future the land could be made available for future planning.
This has got local residents up in arms as it has been used for recreational purposes including dog walking and a place for a kick about for years.
A protest group is pressing the Council to instead designate it as a village green - this will protect it's status from future planning proposals.
Don't we have enough land for building on ?
