Swansea bowlers learn that they will be responsible for the upkeep of their greens in future.
With the financial constraints that the city council face a proposal has been put forward for the variious bowling clubs that already pay hire fees for bowling greens to take over their future maintenance.
This has caused a lot of Swansea bowlers to question the long term future of their sport within the city.
Also there is a feeling that they already pay for this service through their hire charges which will not be reduced.
Another concern is of course that the average age of members is well over the retirement age and as such are not necessarily able to carry out the maintenance work.
Seems a little unfair on the Swansea bowlers.
