The councils in Wales have been encouraged to merge and that's what Swansea are talking about.
There are advanced talks taking place with Neath Port Talbot council following a vote by the councillors.
They are also keen to take inparts of east Carmarthenshire and part of Powys.
This bit is less clear as the Assembly have said that mergers must respect existing boundaries.
The changes have really come to a head with the extreme budget squeeze that is being forced on everyone in this austere financial climate.
Lets just hope that the changes work for everyone's benefit and that the costs of the change are not too onerous.
