The Swansea tidal lagoon has taken another big step forward this week.
The Government has announced a series of large infrastructure projects as part of their future spending plan that will stimulate the local economy.
They have included the Swansea scheme even though it relies on private funding it still needs Government approval.
The tidal lagoon in addition to providing local emplyment will also showcase cutting edge green technology and be a fantastic visitor attraction.
The scheme when fully up and running will provide power to up to 150000 households.
Developers hope that with a Government green light the will start construction in 2015.
