The Welsh Land Registry in Swansea is no longer under threat of privatisation.
The Land Registry has been based in Swansea for many years.
In that time it has been located both in the city and at it's present location in the Enterprise Park.
The plans to privatise the Registry has been a controversial one but it now looks as if the Government have abandoned plans to take this forward.
The Registry employs over 400 people in Swansea and is acknowledged as a very efficient Government department.
Many aspects of their operations have been automated and their provision of a Government guarantee when you buy or sell your house is a very important aspect of the conveyancing process.
