The plans for the Tidal lagoon have now been submitted for scrutiny.
This £750 million project will be part of a scheme to harness tidal power and ultimately meet 10% of the UK's electricity needs from green sources.
The lagoon will initially generate 2000 construction jobs and then will need a team of150 to maintain the ongoing project.
Crucially the scheme has had a caution endorsement from Friends of the Earth Cymru who recognise the need to harness tidal power as a sustainable energy source.
Sounds really great for Swansea !
