Team orders have existed in Formula 1 Racing for a long time and will no doubt sadly continue to play a role despite being banned by the FIA in 2002 after a Ferrari incident involving Schumacher and Barrichello.
Some F1 Teams in 2010 seem to think that the 8 year old Team Orders ban rule does not apply to them. Yet they would be the 1st to complain if one of their rival teams broke any F1 rule as this sport is still big £££ business.
So the question is should we turn a blind eye to the Team orders ban? Alternatively, unlike Ferrari did at the recent German Grand Prix perhaps F1 teams should implement 'team orders' in such a way that they cannot be detected so easily..in other words Cheat!
A more Sporting solution surely would be to either enforce the Team Orders Ban or scrap it entirely. One thing for sure is that it needs to sorted out soon before the sport gets tarnished anymore. Rules are rules at the end of the day!
