Chard Improvement Action Group (C.I.A.G) is dedicated to making Chard and surrounding areas of Somerset a great place to live, work and visit. Together, we want to conserve and enhance the quality of life, foster pride in our local area and create a strong sense of community. We are a non-religious, non-sectarian and non-party political association.

Public meetings

We have regular meetings advertised on our Facebook page (link) in Chard. Meetings are open to members and non-members, so come along to find out what’s going on.

History of Chard Improvement Action Group

The group was formed in October 2017 following a meeting of residents at Eleos Cafe. We decided to set up with the aim of fostering and maintaining pride in Chard and the surrounding area of Somerset.

We are currently working on:

  • The Chard Museum Living Wall project
  • Chard Art Wall Project
  • Raising agreed areas of improvement with the relevant authorities
  • Investigating agreed areas of interest

Role holders

The Chard Improvement Action Group consists of a Chairperson, a Vice Chair, a Secretary, a Treasurer, and a Youth Representative.
