The hope is to get people outside in the fresh air as the project encourages outdoor displays rich with creativity to light up the Towns and Villages with Christmas spirit across the entire community.
Illumination Street is sponsored by Safestyle UK who are giving £5000 worth of prizes this Christmas. Why not enter the competition and showcase your passion for lighting up your garden? The competition is intended to inspire adults and children to create spectacular displays that will entertain passers-by and thrill everyone people with their festive illuminations. As we edge our way into winter following a tough year for many of us having something to smile about will be a welcome tonic!

It is hoped that the whole community will get behind this initiative to support it, enter into the spirit of the occasion, and make Taunton and Bridgwater alive at this special time of year. As we prepare for Christmas with illuminations in the centre of the Towns it is heart-warming to see the joy spreading.
For those who are not participating maybe wrap up well and take a walk or a ride around the town and join in the excitement by seeing what people have created. Christmas is not just for small children, and indeed everyone can join in a festival of lights.
Bring your homes to life in an otherwise dark time of year, if everyone does the same, we can look forward to entire streets and areas of town being sparkling and joyful in time for Christmas. Illumination Street Week is from 9th to 15th December but we hope the festive spirit will last through Christmas.
