Join in the Great British Clean, every item of waste collected is one less scar on the coastline, one less item to degrade and cause pollution, one less item to enter the natural cycle of the sea.
The Marine Conservation Society organises the Great British Beach Clean, and they have many organised events around the country, including Somerset – Weston super Mare, and Minehead for example, however the entire coastline belongs to us all, so even having a day at the coast and picking up as many items as you can manage safely and depositing them in collection bins is to make a supreme effort towards making the difference.

By joining the MSC events you will be joining thousands of people across the UK over the weekend 20th to 23rd September and you will be contributing to a National and Global Survey about the issues of coastal housekeeping. Working together as a family, a group of friends, or by joining the National Great British Beach Clean you will meet many like-minded people, make new friends and have great day out in the fresh air. Encouraging the younger members of the community, through associations and youth groups, or as part of the family commitment, is a fine way of developing in them awareness of the fragility of our environment and the need to protect it.
The Marine Conservation Society is a registered charity and depends on fund raising and donations to work on our behalf. One good way to boost their activities is to fund raise or donate, remember every little helps.
The Marine Conservation Society Great British Beach Clean is highly recommended by the Best of Taunton and Bridgwater. See you there on the 20th -23rd September!
