Learn how to use flint, bronze and steel tools at this practical, hands-on workshop and experience how our ancient ancestors made objects from wood. Amongst the skills you will learn are green working and the endangered crafts of hurdle making and hewing.
Discover the unique archaeology of the Somerset Levels and the historic methods used to make ancient wooden items. Learn traditional techniques that are nearly extinct and help to keep these endanger crafts alive!
10.00 am – 12.30 pm, ages 14 – 18 years
1.30 pm – 4.00 pm, ages 18 – 23 years
All young people under 18 must be accompanied by an adult (accompanying adults do not need to book a ticket.)
These workshops are funded by D’Oyly Carte Charitable Trust which means they are FREE to attend but a refundable £10.00 deposit is required for booking.
