Amanda Webb fell in love with willow after attending a Christmas willow weaving workshop as a student. It has been her material of choice ever since.
The willow she uses is grown on the Somerset Levels within a mile of her house, making it a local and sustainable material. However, being a full-time teacher, weaving was just a hobby as Amanda never had the time to fully commit to her art. That all changed in 2022, when after 33 years of teaching she retired and started Amanda Webb Makes , creating and selling her sculptures along with sharing her passion through teaching.
