Curator Bethan Pritchard will talk about four women, with links to the South West, who played their part during the Second World War conflict and subsequent peace process.
Hear about the celebrated photographer Lee Miller who documented the work of WRENs at RNAS Yeovilton; SOE spy Odette Hallowes, the first woman to be awarded the George Cross; ATS driver Betty Carter, who worked to rebuild Germany; and the peace campaigner and former actress Kathleen Tacchi-Morris.
Bethan recently curated the exhibition ‘Strength and Resilience: Somerset Women in the Second World War’ which is open at Somerset Rural Life Museum, Glastonbury from 8 March to 8 June.
