The Museum force fields are coming down for Sci Fi Saturdays so that Sci-Fi fans of all ages can celebrate and share their favourite shows and characters. Dress in your most impressive costume for a true Sci-Fi singularity.

What to Expect:

Sci Fi Oddities

There will be a range of ‘Sci Fi Oddities’ drop-in activities and interventions in Castle House including:

  • Space Food – Strange fruit that, when touched, emits the sounds of aliens
  • Mini Shadow Worlds – Create articulated puppets and cast their shadow within an otherworldly animated scene
  • Paper spacecraft – Learn how to fold paper into a long-distance flying spacecraft and enter your flying machine into the aerodrome paper rockets competition.
  • The orbit mobile -Construct simple spaceships and interstellar creatures and suspend them from our orbit mobile
  • Mecha-Mirror – Look at your reflection in our Mecha-Mirror, you’ll see a robot looking back at you!

Real Props

Find real props from Doctor Who on display in the Great Hall – perfect for the Whovians amongst you.

Meet visiting Doctor Who artist  Sophie Cowdrey  on 5 October.

Curators Tours

Join a curators tour of the exhibition on 7 September at 11am and 2pm.

The Exhibition

The exhibition ‘ Adventures in Time and Space: 60 Years of Doctor Who Art ’ is on display, 15 June – 5 October 2024.
