There are some spectacular views of the Blackdown Hills to the South. Once departed you head into the Watermill with an informative display about its history and workings before you wander into the Formal Garden situated to the front of the House and also south of it giving an nice exotic feel as well as a warm and colourful mix with red hot pokers and lavender some of the flowers on show. The house offers a wonderful interior although not furnished offers a decent art exhibition with some spectacular works of art on show to see and enjoy. There are some information videos at different places around the site detailing some interesting points about each place. There is a lovely menu from the restaurant to enjoy at reasonable prices and there is a gift shop at the plant centre and in the house with a wonderful amount fo giftd on show. The staff are very friendly and helpful on site making the visiting experience all the more interesting and enjoyable. Overall a spectacular place to visit for a few hours one that will blow away and make you want to come back in the future.

A very nicely laid out and well managed location for lunch or afternoon tea. It has a relatively small but varied lunch menu, prices are reasonable and the quality of the food is good. The Club sandwich is excellent. Friendly staff, and a relaxing venue all round. Not the easiest place to find but that's probably a bonus. Will definitely visit again.

Lovely gardens originally designed by Gertrude Jekyll with lake and orangery, tea room, plant shop and house with gift store. Lots to see, very helpful volunteers, beautifully quiet when I visited on a Saturday during the bank holiday. Recommended.

Nice gardens and grounds and tea room. The art exhibition was questionable and not to my taste. Great use of the space though for exhibitions. Loved feeding the fish and ducks.
