Sparklers at the ready! Are you wondering what's on in Telford around Bonfire Night? There will be some fantastic firework displays taking place in Telford this coming Guy Fawkes night.
Fancy a little history refresh?
Each year, Shropshire - along with the rest of the UK - marks the historic moment when Guy Fawkes attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament and King James I in the Gunpowder Plot on 5th November 1605; this date is known as Guy Fawkes Night, or more commonly known as Bonfire Night.
On Bonfire Night, bonfires are lit on which effigies known as “guys” are burned; while the skies are filled with colourful fireworks. It’s also a time to enjoy traditional Bonfire Night food and drink, alongside music, funfairs and family activities.
