Having a party can be great fun, but please make sure you remember it for all the right reasons. Fireworks and bonfires are spectacular but can also be dangerous so here are some things to consider:
1) Always supervise children around fireworks and bonfires
2) Be careful if drinking alcohol around bonfires and fireworks- never drink if you are going to be setting off fireworks
3) Make sure that any fireworks are bought from a reputable shop and conform to British Safety Standards BS 7114
4) Follow the instructions given on fireworks
5) Stand well back from fireworks
6) Never go near a firework that has been lit- even if it has not yet gone off
7) Never pick up or throw fireworks or place them on your person
8) Keep all pets indoors
9) Be careful with sparklers- do not give to young children and only light one at a time
