New sports & leisure facilities to open at Phoenix Academy in Dawley
Locals can enjoy a preview of the new Health & Fitness Suite, along with other leisure facilities at the Phoenix Academy in Dawley over this coming weekend, ahead of the official opening on Monday 23rd September.
The Aspirations Whole Life Health and Fitness Suite and stunning leisure facilities are part of the £16m development. They will be open for viewing between 10am and 4pm on Saturday 21 September and Sunday 22 September.
The fabulous new fitness and leisure facilities include a 50 station Health and Fitness suite, a 3rd generation artificial rugby and football pitch, a double sports hall and a national BMX track.
Opening times for the new Fitness Suite will be from 7am to 9pm every day, whilst the other sporting facilities are available for community use during evenings and weekends.
The gym features the latest in strength and cardio training equipment from leading fitness manufacturer, Cybex.
Local residents who sign up over the preview weekend get the first month free.
Councillor Liz Clare, cabinet member for Leisure Services and Culture, said: "The Phoenix is a key part of the council's future leisure offer and we are delighted to be able to give residents the chance to preview the facilities before the site formally opens. It promises to be a fantastic facility for both the school and the community and we are really looking forward to it opening."
