Telford based kitchen company, ‘Kitchens at R&R’ was proud to be asked to assist in the transformation of the former Olympic Village athletes quarters into luxury £1m+ apartments.
They became involved after Mark Burrows, Director at the Priorslee firm R & R Services was contacted by the Italian company contracted to design and build the kitchens who had found his online profile on LinkedIn.
Mark and the team spent five weeks in London, creating full 3D images of the available space using specialist laser measuring equipment, which were then sent to the Italian company to build the kitchens - 1300 kitchens in total for the £1 million plus luxury properties.
“They confirmed we could do the work and then three of us went down to London for five weeks, spread over two months,” said Mark. “We used our specialist equipment to take laser measurements, which we then converted into a 3D drawing of the space and sent to the Italian company making the actual units.”
The athletes’ village is literally a small town with multi-storey apartments used to house the hundreds of athletes that competed at both of the games.
“It was an honour to work with and be involved in such a prestigious project and a once in a lifetime opportunity. It’s a good feeling to know we have played a small part in such an important site” said Mark.
R&R Services also recently won the ‘the most loved Kitchen Company in the UK’ award in ‘thebestof’ 14 Days of Love campaign. Read more about them here
