Charities break Gloucestershire’s piggy bank!
THE Old Spot Trust - Gloucestershire’s piggy bank to benefit local charities and good causes is set to donate over £10,000 in grants to 25 Gloucestershire charities.
The awards ceremony is being held at 6pm on Wednesday 7th July at Over Farm Market, Gloucester.
The trust was set up in 2007 by directors of three local companies and an independent trustee with the aim to help make Gloucestershire an even better place to live, work and learn.
The Old Spot Trust offers financial support in the form of grants to groups who help the county’s people, animals, wildlife or environment.
The money has been raised through activities such as Frightmare and the infamous Haunted hayride as well as The Old Spot Trust cookbook which features more than 100 recipes from well-known Gloucestershire people.
‘‘The charities that we have selected to receive a grant are extremely worthy causes,’’ said Rob Ayland, Trustee and Managing Director of Completely Motoring.
Rob added ‘‘It’s really great to be able to give something back to the local community and to support charities that may otherwise get over looked.’’
