Jubilee celebrations
ORGANISERS of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations are gearing up for a packed programme at Shipston’s Sheldon Bosley Hub.
The celebrations are being held in the afternoon on Monday, June 4, and will include an RAF fly past, a wheelbarrow race, a dog show, and belly dancers. Musical and comedy entertainment in the evening will be followed by a torchlit procession from the Sheldon Bosley Hub up to Waden Farm, Darlingscote Road, where the Shipston Town Band will be playing.
A beacon will be lit and residents can enjoy a firework display funded by Shipston Town Council.
Money has been raised to fund the celebrations from events including tombola at Shipston Sports Club and a car boot sale at Shipston Rugby Club.
Many local organisations have pledged their support and help on the day. For details, e-mail shipstonjubilee@ btinternet.
