JAYBEE MOTORS LAUNCHES SPECIAL EDITION MG TO CELEBRATE 85 YEARS OF THE MARQUE
Jaybee Motors is launching a limited edition TF to celebrate the 85th year of the MG marque. The cars have been created to epitomise the sporting heritage of MG, with performance and fun at the heart of what has been dedicated the MG TF 85th Anniversary.
The MG TF 85th Anniversary is based around a new trim package combined with an updated ride and handling set up, to create a car that will be one of the most fun to drive MGs ever produced.
The MG TF 85th has the same 1.8 litre, multipoint fuel injected petrol engine that powers the MG TF LE500 and the recently launched entry level MG TF 135, but it benefits from a suspension and handling package that lowers the body, increases road adhesion & delivers additional directional responsiveness.
The limited edition car retains MG’s signature mid engined, rear wheel drive handling with tuning of the ride that owes much to MG’s racing heritage. The improvements increase the agility and stability of the car making this version of the TF even more fun to drive right up to the limit of its road going performance.
Chief Project Engineer Ian Pogson says “As Project Manager it was my very great pleasure to lead and mould a team to create this variant of the TF. We all love the car and I trust that comes through, from the stunning wheels, chassis developments to the noticeable aesthetic changes. We were determined to make a cohesive visual change to the car, but the big change is when you drive it. As a passenger during track testing, the development vehicle was hammered around impossible turns at frightening speed and I realised that here was a chassis that delivered something more than even the regular TF.”
As well as the changes to ride and handling, the MG TF 85th Anniversary comes with a new look inside and out. The car comes with distinctive new alloy wheels and will be available in three unique colours each overlaid with optional eye-catching asymmetric body stripes.
Specially monogrammed door plates, gear stick and boot decals complete a look that is sporty but stylish, in line with the brand’s heritage. On the inside a new distinctive leather trim, air conditioning and a high level ICE completes the package. This very special car will be launched at £15,664 on the road.
