Normally strictly trade, we are open on the first Saturday of every month to the public. Retail customers can browse the nursery, purchase plants or ask advice from our team on the right plants for their garden. We grow and stock a huge selection of perennials, shrubs, ferns, grasses, climbers and trees.
The recent rains mean the soil is warm and wet, so it's the perfect time to plant trees or any other hardy garden plants.
With 1000's of trees on site, there is a huge range of varieties and sizes to choose from whether you're looking for evergreen screening, scented flowers, colourful foliage or striking winter bark, we should be able to offer lots of tempting choices. Sizes range from 10 Litre plants 150cm tall to semi mature trees in 100 Litre pots over 5 metres tall. We also stock pleached trees such as hornbeam and Portuguese laurel which is great solution for overlooked town gardens as well as large country gardens.
We also carry a large stock of box topiary alternatives. The box tree moth and box blight is devastating hedges and topiary across the UK, so we've dropped box and stocked up with yew, laurel and ilex balls and cones.
It's also a fantastic time to look at and purchase ornamental grasses which are in full bloom. We also have 100's of types of unusual perennials so there is plenty of late season colour for your sun, shade, dry or damp.
Babylon Plants is run ecologically, so we minimise our use of chemicals and employ biological controls for most plant health issues. Re-use, composting and recycling are employed throughout our operations and the nursery is surrounded by a 5 acre wildflower meadow teeming with life and surrounded by trees planted 25 years ago. All our own stock has been grown in peat free compost for well over a decade and as a result we supply dozens of National Trust properties.
Our range can be viewed in advance on our website www.babylonplants.co.uk and downloading the retail spreadsheets.
