Isle of Man Sport has announced plans to further improve the development of sporting talent on the Island to help sportsmen and women achieve even greater success in future years.
Expressions of interest are being sought from individuals to work with sports clubs, schools and governing bodies to help nurture sporting talent.
Chris Quine, Sports Performance Co-ordinator with Isle of Man Sport, explained:
‘Talent identification and development is an extremely complex area so the more that can be done to help those working in sport, whether they be a coach, administrator or parent, the better chance we have of helping more of our athletes succeed on the world stage.
‘This is very much a case of dipping a toe in the water. We are looking to engage an individual or perhaps individuals for around 10-12 hours per week

‘This is very much a case of dipping a toe in the water. We are looking to engage an individual or perhaps individuals for around 10-12 hours per week on a self-employed basis and Isle of Man Sport have kindly agreed to fund this initiative for an initial period of two years.’
Gary Corkhill, Isle of Man Sport’s Executive Chairman, added: ‘One of the key objectives of the Isle of Man Strategy for Sport is the help our sportsmen and women compete on the international stage. We have watched in wonder during recent years as our athletes bring home medals from a range of international events.
‘If we want this to continue in future years we have to continue to invest in talent development and we feel that this exciting initiative will help us to achieve this aim.’
