Olympic Athlete Zoe says “Having grown on the Isle of Man, I know that it’s a great place to live and I’m really proud to take the Manx spirit to Snowboarding events around the world. I really appreciate all the support I get from the Island and am proud to support the first Children’s Week in the UK or Isle of Man. It’s a great opportunity for the Manx community to promote and celebrate children and young people. I’m sure the Manx community will really get behind this event and make it something to remember!”

Children’s Week, with the support of The Children’s Centre and the Department of Education and Children, is hoping to engage the whole community by encouraging groups and individuals to organise their own events and activities. As it’s the first of its kind, there are no barriers to what you can do!

Chrissy Cannell, Children’s Week Coordinator said, ‘Events don’t need to cost much to organise, or take up a lot of time. In fact, if you already have an event organised between July 17th and July 23th, you could rebrand it as a Children’s Week. Sports clubs can run taster sessions for children, organisations can set up family fun days and Children’s Week events can be used to promote the work of any charity and raise funds; if you’re doing an event we want to hear about it’!

The Venture Centre in Maughold, Onchan Entertainers, the Manx Heritage Foundation, the Broadway Theatre Company and The Children’s Centre are just some of the organisations involved!

For further information or to tell the Children's Centre about your event please contact Chrissy Cannell, childrensweek@thechildrenscentre.org.im or 01624 631918
