Utilising social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Manx Tube The Children’s Centre are campaigning to encourage the local community to donate an hour of their pay to support the charity’s mobile playscheme Out2Play.
The Children’s Centre has recruited over 500 fans to their Facebook page and a video promoting the initiative has had over 400 views on ManxTube. Michelle O’Malley, Acting Fundraising Manager for the charity said ‘We’re amazed by the amount of support we’re getting on line, and we just hope this continues when the time comes for people to give an hour’s pay’.
