The Peel Soapbox Derby turned out to be a brilliant family day out and the sun shone too!
The Derby which has been resurrected after 50 years was a huge success and everyone had a fantastic day watching the incredible creations hurtle down Pevril Road.
The day started with scrutineering of 33 entrants in the morning with lots of tweeking of machines and head scratching as competitors arrived at the field and then onto the race in the afternoon.
From traditonal designs to the outright crazy the competitors showed their devotion and initiative with the amazing machines produced for the race.
All in all it was a great day out for all the family and let's hope this is an event we see back on the caldendar for years to come.
