Friday night once again will be the night when motorcycle racing fans can bag themselves a piece of desirable memorabilia while at the same time supporting a worthy cause.

The Palace Hotel in Douglas is the venue for the annual Hogg auction which raises money for medical services that support motor racing events in the Isle of Man.

Organised by the Hogg family in memory of Phil Hogg who died in an accident at Ballagarey during practices for the TT in 1989, the auction takes place every year to help finance equipment and the Hogg rescue ambulances used to cover TT, Manx Grand Prix, Southern 100 and other motorsport.

Thanking everyone who had donated to the auction, Phil’s brother, Shaun Hogg said there was once again a multitude of splendid items on offer, including a range of excellent photographs and paintings.

‘Among various items there’s a great collage of Joey done on canvass and some really good photographs, There are also offers of weekend breaks away and items donated by dealers such as Crookes Suzuki and Jason Griffiths,’ he said.

The event will be compered by well-known commentator Roy Moore.

Entry costs £2.50 and tickets will be available on the door. People are advised to arrive by 8pm. The Hogg family thanked the Palace Hotel for providing the venue.
