Cara Dillon Revives Her Acclaimed “Coming Home” Show, Blending Poetry, Song, and Storytelling

Doors 7.30pm | Tickets £28.50 | Theatre

Following the official release of the album and the publication of her book of the same name in March 2024, Cara brings her acclaimed “Coming Home” show to life once again.

The Autumn of 2023 and Spring of 2024 marked a significant milestone in Cara’s career as she unveiled “Coming Home” to rapt audiences, a show featuring her first new material in over six years. The response was nothing short of overwhelming, including sell-out appearances at the Grand Opera House, Belfast – Kings Place, London and The Guildhall in Derry, among many others.

Born from a collection of personal poems and the remarkable album and book that followed, this acclaimed live production sees Cara skilfully interweave this emotive new material with a carefully curated selection of her beloved classics. The result is a tapestry that seamlessly blends storytelling, poetry, and song, effortlessly blurring the lines between them and offering a rare and evocative glimpse into Cara’s world, where she shares personal memories and stories inspired by her native Co. Derry and the remarkable people, places, and customs she holds closest to her heart.

She’ll be accompanied by an extraordinary band led by Sam Lakeman and featuring his sensitive arrangements, which help to make this her most compelling live show yet—in which profound memories and emotions are unlocked in all who see it.

“Coming Home is a bewitching album…it might just be the best album she has ever released.” – The Irish Independent

“Just divine and affecting” – Mark Radcliffe, BBC Radio 2

“Memoir, poem, guidebook, diary. It is a work of intimacy, love, and affection, unguarded and authentic. It’s both blanket & magic carpet. It’s the tent of childhoods spent dreaming under a night sky in summer. It’s boundless.” – Maria McManus, Poetry Ireland
