Planning permission has been granted to develop the pavilion at Woodside Park, which will ensure that it complies with relevant governing bodies as well as improving facilities to offer more space for the club room.
The pavilion has been underused over the years and the new and improved facilities should help to encourage more and better use by the sporting community.
This exciting project has been the vision of the recently formed Lymington Sports Association, and they were delighted to see their plans approved. The board of the LSA has submitted a bid for funding from Sport England, as they recognise the value of sporting grants and scholarships for coaching and equipment in ensuring close relationships between local sports clubs and schools.
In celebration of this milestone, LSA have launched a Sports Award which will be an annual event. The award will be an Olympic Legacy Award and will be in recognition of services to volunteering, coaching or officiating.
If you would like more information about how you can join LSA, the plans for sports pavilion development or to find out how you can enter the awards, visit www.lymingtonsports.org or email info@lymingtonsports.org.
