Foodbank Collection at Morrisons, Corringham
Saturday 17th March 2012
Between 8am-4pm
Help feed local people in crisis!
Visit Morrisons in Corringham, on Saturday 17th March and you’ll find Thurrock foodbank collecting all kinds of non-perishable food from the public. Foodbanks help local people through short-term crisis situations with emergency food parcels and also provide support and signposting to help combat longer-term problems. Supermarket collections are one of the main ways that foodbanks are stocked.
“The current economic climate means that more and more households are struggling to put food on the table, so we really need local people to give what they can to help,” says Victoria Windus, who is leading the Thurrock foodbank project team. “We are working hard to get Thurrock foodbank started and aim to be up and running by the summer. This is our first food collection, so please do come along to support us and give generously.”
Volunteers will be collecting at Morrisons in Corringham from 8am to 4pm.
