The 24-7 taxi company has recently scooped the Excellent Customer Service title in the Thurrock Business Awards – cementing its reputation as one of the friendliest and best-performing taxi companies in the region. The business was also named as a finalist in the New Business and Highly Commended Business categories. 

KnightOwl Taxis has transformed traditional taxi services through the introduction of a state-of-the-art, computerised online booking system which not only allows customers to book a taxi any time it suits them, but also allows them to track the vehicle through GPS and keep up to date with its progress. And from next month, its devotion to improving customer service promises to get even better with the aid of a text-message system which allows clients to provide direct feedback to the firm about their recent experience.  

Owner Paul Gooch said: “The booking system is just a small part of the changes we’ve made to improve customer service. We insist all of our drivers help our customers with their luggage or shopping and that they wait outside our vulnerable customers’ homes until they are safely inside after a night out, especially young women. As a matter of course, we’ll also make sure we have a pint of milk and a loaf of bread to hand over when we collect you from the airport after your holiday.

“We want the customer to have a pleasant experience from the moment they call us to the moment we drop them off. We believe we’re offering a service that far supersedes anything else that’s available. You won’t ever get a driver picking you up in jeans and a T-shirt. The taxi service only employs fully trained staff who have been fully vetted and CRB checked to ensure the safety of their customers. The business has five, six and seven-seater vehicles available and covers all travel needs from commuting, business trips throughout the UK, theatre, restaurant and club visits as well as airports.
