On Saturday Truro CC beat Newquay CC by 250 runs to win the Jolly Drinks Cornwall Premier League title for the 1st time in 9 years.
Having lost the toss and been asked to bat Truro could not have had a better start from their openers Tim Marrion and Joe Dale, who shared a 210 partnership with Marrion going on to get his century (110) and Dale was out for 89. Corey Harris continued the onslaught and Truro finished with 320 for 6 from their reduced 51 overs.
The strength to this Championship win has been the consistency shown by the bowlers, and this continued on Saturday with the opening pair of Alex Taylor (6 for 41) and Kyle Van Rooyen (4 for 25) doing all the damage and bowling Newquay out for 70. In the process Kyle achieved a personal milestone, by being only the 3rd Truro player to achieve more than 100 wickets in the Premier League.
