Have you heard about the Look For Local project, part of the Making Local Food Work scheme?
Me neither, but as soon as I saw it I knew I had to pass it on.

It's a Lottery funded national project, geared towards promoting and assisting local shops increase their sales and marketing potential. But it's not just about increasing their own custom - the scheme aims to increase the locally produced foods stocked and sold.

Look For Local offers up to 3 days 1-to-1 dedicated advisor support to help source and bring in locally produced ranges, the Look For Local guide which has invaluable information on maximising sales. Marketing support is also part of the package, and Look For Local branded point of sale material. This is all worth some £1000, but is available FREE to a limited number of applicant shops.

Successful applicants can help benefit the Tunbridge Wells area supply chain, supporting local food manufacturers, improving availability of fresher healthier goods to their customers, and boosting the local economy.

The Making Local Food Work organisation is a fantastic resource for local producers, retailers, and consumers, and their website contains a wealth of information about other projects, where to buy and what to buy, which ties in very well with our own thebestof Tunbridge Wells Buy local campaign.
