Independently owned and run by Hamish Duncan, who is a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Advanced Practitioner, you can be sure of a friendly, compassionate service whatever your pet's needs. Services include:
Excellent personal service is the reason why many Walsall pet owners choose 387 Veterinary Centre, and it is why most new clients come to the practice via personal recommendation. A multi-award winning practice, 387 Vets were hailed as Vets of the Year 2019 in the best of’s annual testimonial-driven competition to find the best-loved local businesses UK-wide. They are holders of an Outstanding Customer Service Award from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and are the only practice in the 20-year history of the prestigious annual Petplan Veterinary Awards to win 3 of the 5 major awards on the same night for going above and beyond in their daily work.
At 387 Vets, it’s very much the people that make the practice. The 13-strong 387 team includes vets and vet nurses with advanced qualifications. The practice as a whole is invested in continually developing services, standards, knowledge and understanding for better diagnostics and tailored care of your pet.
387 Vets recognise that continuity matters, which is why you can choose to see the same vet every time you visit. All consultations are 15 minutes long, rather than the 10 minutes many other practices offer, so the team can be thorough and also spend time getting to know you and your pet. And in a world that's increasingly busy, there's plenty of flexibility around appointment times too. Ask us about our cat-only appointment times.
Book into their one-to-one qualified nurse-led clinics for a wealth of advice and nurse-led treatments, or simply ask at reception for more information.
387 Veterinary Centre is the only vets in Walsall to have a veterinary surgeon, Clinical Director Hamish Duncan, with Advanced Practitioner status in cat and dog medicine.
The practice holds Gold Cat-Friendly Clinic Status with the International Society of Feline Medicine in recognition of the protocols and facilities in place to minimise feline stress in practice. The practice's cat-friendly clinic vet advocate, Emma Goncalves, holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Feline Practice.
387 Veterinary Centre is proud to be the first vets in the UK to be awarded Platinum Investors in People accreditation for the way they look after their team.
387 Veterinary Centre has Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons accreditation in recognition of its high professional standards of care. Bright, spacious premises include a dedicated operating theatre, a diagnostic suite, a large prep area and an isolation room as well as extended high spec kennelling facilities. A separate cat ward meets the highest standards dictated by the International Society of Feline Medicine for in-patient care under their Cat-Friendly Clinic Scheme.
All x-rays and ultrasounds are digital, including the digital dental x-ray machine which enables the team to exactly identify problematic teeth for cost-effective surgery and no unnecessary pain. New investments in bio-chemistry and blood analysers mean the team can run tests in house as necessary and in critical cases, make faster decisions to best support your pet. And the practice now offers laser therapy for a range of conditions, including pain management and wound repair, as well as cryosurgery for conscious wart and skin tag removal.
387 Veterinary Centre has the expertise and facilities to deal with most orthopaedic surgery in house as well as medical referral cases and more routine procedures. Following practical training, senior vet Hamish Duncan has adopted TTA Rapid and MMP techniques for repairing cruciate disease, procedures only developed in the last few years.
The practice aims to make visits as comfortable as possible for both pets and their owners. Their large attractive reception is air conditioned - as are the consulting rooms - and there is a dog free area to keep cats and small pets calm while they wait.
Visitors can use the centre's secure, well-lit 13 space car park and for drivers with limited mobility, there is a disabled space directly in front of reception.
Situated on the A34 between Bloxwich and Cannock, the practice is easily accessible from all directions.
