Absolutely cracking course, with some interesting holes and challenging plays. Can get a bit samey on the back nine but there is always something to keep you on your toes. We played following some exceptionally wet weather and for the most part the course held up really well. The front nine is interesting and rewards the player who is straight off the tee but (fortunately) is not too punishing to those who aren't. The greens had just been hollow cored so weren't at their best in early October but having played in the summer I know that this is temporary (a necessary evil). Local knowledge is useful off the tee on some holes but if in doubt just club down. I love the drinks trolley that does the rounds around the course too! And it has an excellent and well stocked pro-shop. There are also 2 ranges, neither of which I have used, but both look decent.
To be honest though the course is only half the story with this place. We stayed in the log cabins and did the full hospitality thing, and we were not disappointed. In fact we have been here twice now (from Sheffield) because the level of service you get is absolutely brilliant and the environs are perfect for a trip away with friends, few beers in the evening and then do it all again the following day. Would thoroughly recommend to everyone.

The service is a little haphazard as drinks were forgotten to be served then presented on the bill, but overall a nice place and friendly but overworked staff.

It's a strong 4/5 from us. The trees are growing and course is maturing nicely. Would have made 5 8f the bunkers were better.

Came off course today, my partner came up to the course to have a meal . Ordered a burger and a chicken tikka. Took 40 mins to come, i complained. I went to the resturant to see if they were busy but no, only one table being used. Waiter came over to apologise for the wait told me the chef wad too busy preping for the following day to cook my order. Even though i am a club member, next time i will go to a pub to eat instead.

Really enjoyed my stay at Calderfields, thought the staff were polite and friendly, especially Tracey from the Chalets, couldn't be more helpful, thank you for a lovely short stay, good food and accommodation

First visit since 2019. Notes on table saying that price had increased, but not saying how much. Food was OK. Rather mean portion of turkey, gravy a bit sweet, veg a bit mushy. Condiments in short supply. Drinks service very slow. Clearly understaffed. Just felt a bit budget.

Excellent venue for our party and the accommodation was extremely comfortable and reasonable price our only bug was there were no menu for breakfast choices otherwise we can really recommend this place

Stayed for 2 nights in the cabins end of july on a friends golfing weekend.
The cabins are basic with 2 single beds, TV and a kettle but perfectly fine for somewhere to get your head down.
The restaurant and its staff were great, breakfast and evening meal were included in our deal and none of the group of 8 I was with had any complaints on the food nor the service.
The course itself was in a very good condition, with only a couple of the greens being patchy due to the amount of hot weather we've had no doubt, the tees were good. The course is a bit tight and favours straight hitting, with some feature holes over water. It was the first time we'd played here and everyone said they would like to go back so take that as a good endorsement.
Plenty of facilities with buggies, driving range, putting and chipping greens and pro shop on site.
Would definitely recommend

Had a really enjoyable experience with Harrison for a custom fitting for irons earlier today.
Got me fitted for a really nice feeling and performing set of Cobra One Lengths. It helped that I was hitting the ball decent for a change (as a higher handicapper). Really excited to try them out on the course now, once they're back from Cobra.
They even accepted a trade for my 16 year old Adams set, which I didn't think they'd take being that old. All helps with the total cost!

Went on a golf trip for the second time to Calderfields with a few mates at the start of July. Last visited in 2017 and the golf course hasn’t changed much. What I found most disappointing was the condition of the greens. It didn’t look like much work had gone into them. The course itself isn’t bad for society golf as the rough is generous and the fairways are really nice. With the boom since Covid, the 10 minute tee times aren’t great as there are alot of beginner golfers out on the course and the intervals really slow the rounds down with a back log on the fairways.
The biggest positive are the staff and how friendly they are around the facility. They are great and can’t do more for you.
Having been twice now, I would recommend a trip where you’re not just going for golf because if I’m honest, it’s not that exciting considering the volume of groups out on course, you’d expect a better standard. Brilliant if it’s a weekend away with your pals and you want friendly, happy environment

We enjoyed meal but beef and Turkey not as nice has before ' could tell there was a different chef ' different supplier for meat ' rest was lovely veg etc x

Very disappointed with visit today. Service very slow some staff obviously not trained enough. Also had to complain about a dirty wine glass that had lipstick on. Had a refund for that but tried to charge For a drink not ordered
