This restaurant is wonderfully overwhelming as you walk-in because you feel like it is a special venue with a grand piano, huge bar and spaced tables.
The food is very good.
The service is awkward. For example, as I was nearing to finishing my starter, the waiter asked if I’d finished and I say not yet, pointing to the last piece. He replied that my mains were waiting and then cleared the starter. Odd. The service seems nervous and as though the waiting staff have never been a customer in a restaurant.

Went here for dinner for the first time, was sceptical as the menu doesn’t have ‘the classics’ and I am a fussy eater. The food was beautiful, cocktails came with a bit of added drama, which we loved and the service was impeccable. Five Rivers is a firm favourite for celebrations and tonight did not disappoint! A standout during my visit was Ricky. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely went out of his way to make the experience memorable. He made sure we were well taken care of throughout the meal. Ricky’s attention to detail really added to the overall experience, making it feel personal and special.
As always, the food was equally impressive with the tandoori jhinga, lamb chops&saag punjabi being the favourites!

We’ve come to the conclusion that Five Rivers surpasses all Indian restaurants in Birmingham and we’ve tried a few! The service is impeccable and the food is delicious. Jason was a great host. Can I suggest whatever you’re doing just keep doing it!Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5

Was taken to five rivers for my birthday. It was my first experience of a la carte Punjabi cuisine. Can’t recommend them highly enough everything was first class, especially at the end of the evening,when the young waiter on realising it was my birthday rushed off to the kitchen to then return with a beautiful little cake. All in all a fabulous evening in a fabulous restaurant

As always beautiful environment, lovely staff and incredible food.
We booked a table for 10 to celebrate a milestone birthday with friends. We had a wonderful evening.
My only improvement would be to recommend more staffing for the restaurant when there are big functions booked upstairs. We found service good but slow, needing to ask to order drinks, menus, food, pay etc the and all room much longer than usual. No complaints about he food and staff were hard working doing their best.

This was our first visit, booked as a surprise birthday dinner because I had heard really good things about the food. The restaurant did not disappoint, the food was fantastic, freshly cooked, great flavour and portion sizes. The staff were friendly and very attentive. The menu is small, but each dish is crafted with great care. The presentation, décor, and staff are exceptional. I’ve been a regular at Five Rivers since 2014, and they even catered our wedding. Highly recommend.
The downside: the Glaab-Jaman Cinnamon Crème Brûlée, which was their secret weapon, has been taken off the menu. It really needs to make a comeback.
Vegetarian options: The Mali Kofta is sublime.

Food was good but not exceptional as it usually is. Our reservation was 830 and the dining area was so loud you couldn’t hear yourself think. The piano playing was quite loud and people were talking louder to accommodate this. We were a party of 7 on a large round table and you could only talk to the person next to you as the other side of the table could not hear. It did quieten down later.
