My husband and I recently held our daughter's Christening reception at The Black Country Arms. Our guests (many of whom were from Durham and so unfamiliar with this pub) absolutely loved the venue. We hired out the upstairs - free of charge - and Kim catered for us with a cold buffet at a very reasonable price. There was a great variety of different foods and there was plenty to go round. I would recommend this pub as a great place to hold a private function. The staff are friendly, the variety of beers is a great attraction, and the venue itself is welcoming.

Someone at another pub recommended that for good home cooked food and even better real ales that a quick trip on the bus to Walsall was a must do!
They weren’t wrong at all!
Brilliant choice of real ales with plenty local choice and the food was all fresh, home made and decent portions.
Will definitely be back 😊

Friendly, well stocked real ale pub.
Arrived after a long late train journey. Welcoming knowledgeable bar staff and regulars.
16 hand pumps available, 3 regulars and rest guest ales, mostly midlands. Notice behind Bar said over 600 guest ales this year and I believe it.
Mini beer festival next week.
Only downside is it's a way up the high street opposite Asda and on way there 10pm on weekday night barely saw a soul outside, even fewer an hour later.

Absolutely divine! The chips are perfect too, & the GARLIC (Peter Kay) bread was soooo more-ish. MrDW had his usual pie, I just couldn't take a pie on this time. Wonderful staff, great prices too. See you again soon!

We visit the Black Country Arms every week. Great choice of real ales, 10+ different ales any one time, great food and friendly staff. Would highly recommend if you like real ale and home cooked food. Children are welcome too so this always makes a nice couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon for us.

We are relatively new to our real ales, know what we like but ready to push our boundaries and the bar staff here are more than willing to help and guide.
Beautiful selection of real ales and a couple of ciders too and not to forget the cheese and onion cobs! 😊Lovely garden to the side and rear, menu looks tasty and overall a great pub, lovely feel to a true established pub of Walsall, will definitely return!

Friday 14th July 17, My husband and I went out for a drink and a meal with my godson Kevin who lives in Walsall.
We parked the car and then My husband, Kevin and I walked down into Walsall town centre to go to ‘The Black Country Arms’, a city centre real ale pub.
The Black Country Arms is situated in a Georgian building was be-decked with flower baskets, which gave it a welcoming feel. The pub is situated over three floors with tables for dining and a wonderful real ale bar with over 40 types of real ales and ciders.
We all found a table and we looked at the menu, we then went to look at the bar, the range of ales was impressive and as I am not an ale drinker, I asked about flat ciders, and they had an impressive array.
We were served by Carla, who was a lovely bright and cheerful young lady, who took our food and drinks order.
The food when it arrived was piping hot, well presented and a HUGE portion. My husband had the Black Country faggots and peas served with creamy mash and rich gravy. My husband washed this down with two pints of ‘Pig On The Wall’ ale. I had the Black Country fish, chips and mushy peas (Whale and Chips) and I washed this lovely food down with two pints of ‘Furry Ferret’ apricot cider, which was so smooth and crisp and had a lovely taste.
Kevin did not have a meal, as he had eaten earlier before we came. Kevin had three pints of ‘BFG’ bitter. We spent over three hours talking and chatting and catching up on new and gossip.
If you want a good down to earth pub with friendly staff, good food and excellent bitters, ales and ciders then this is the place to be.

As we're members of camra we visit this pub regularly, the amount and quality of ales on sales is superb. But dont worry if your not an ale fan, the selection of other drinks is also huge.
We have eaten here several times and all i can say is the food is amazing, fantastic choice of black country classics such as faggots and peas and black pudding, but if thats not your taste, then there is a good choice of freshly prepared pub food such as fish and chips, lasagne and the pies are to die for!Absolutely love it, wished i could walk to it from home, but then we'd probably be there everyday

This pub gave me the best pint of ale I have had in my life enjoyed whilst playing board games with my mentor. We need to keep great British pubs like this one open for the next generation. If I drink in Walsall from now on this is where ye shall find me.

They should be entered into a best pie contest because they'd win hands down, lovely pastry, tastier than tasty, & doubly delicious filling & gravy :-)''' Just the thought of them gets me dribblin' like a babby. Need I say another satisfying meal at the BCA, lovely staff, & great prices.

This latest visit was the same as the others, a delight ! The pub as a warm feeling that hits you as soon as you walk in, the menu is simple pub food all cooked in their kitchen and not factory food, the choice is good and we have not been disappointed. The selection of fine ales is beyond belief and the staff very friendly and helpful, a true English pub of a by gone age.

A jewel in the Black Country Ales crown of pubs they own.
This grade 2 listed place is amazing for their excellent range of real ales & ciders, usually about 16 available.
2nd in Walsall Camra pub of the year.
Food served up till about 7.45pm on week days.
Cobs available thorough out the day & evening.
Brilliant land lady & staff behind bar.
A pleasure to always come here.
It is set over 3 levels, with toilets upstairs.
Originally called the Green Dragon, this is an old 18 century inn that had lain shut for 70 years before it re-opened in 1987.
Opens from 11am weekdays & from 12pm on Sat & Sun.

This had a good atmosphere and a quite good menu. At the time we went it was quiet but as there was only one staff on duty this was good. Food was good, prices sensible.
Will go again, pleasantly suprised.
